LIMINALS collects and uses personal information only as necessary to provide real estate services, and in accordance with British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) [SBC 2003].
Information we collect
When you register, request information, or contact us, we may collect: your name, telephone number, email address, postal address, search criteria, and records of our communications with you. We may also collect technical data such as IP address, browser type, and pages visited.
How we use your information
- To respond to your enquiries and provide real estate services.
- To verify your identity in accordance with the Proceeds of Crime (Money Laundering) and Terrorist Financing Act (FINTRAC) and BCFSA rules.
- To send you property listings, market updates, and other communications you have requested. You may withdraw consent at any time.
- To track and confirm compliance with our Terms of Use and with the rules of the Greater Vancouver REALTORS® (GVR) and other real estate boards whose data is displayed on this site.
- To maintain audit trails of activity on the site as required by GVR's MLS® VOW Policy.
Sharing your information
We share personal information only as required to provide services or comply with law, including with:
- The Greater Vancouver REALTORS® (GVR) and other real estate boards, for compliance audits and verification of the proper use of MLS® data;
- Service providers that host or support our website, subject to confidentiality obligations;
- Regulators (BCFSA, FINTRAC, the Privacy Commissioner) and law enforcement when required by law.
We do not sell your personal information.
BCREA Privacy Notice & Consent
If you are a registered consumer (Registrant) using our virtual office website (VOW), you should review the British Columbia Real Estate Association's Privacy Notice and Consent, which forms part of your acceptance of our Terms of Use.
Electronic messages (CASL)
We send commercial electronic messages (such as price-drop alerts and new-match emails) only with your express consent, in accordance with Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL). Every message identifies us and includes a working unsubscribe link; you may withdraw consent at any time without affecting your account or access to listings.
Security and retention
We use reasonable physical, organisational, and technical safeguards to protect personal information. Records of Registrants' activity on this site are retained for at least one hundred and eighty (180) days after a Registrant's password expires, in accordance with GVR's MLS® VOW Policy.
Your rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by contacting our Privacy Officer at the address below. Complaints may also be filed with the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia.
